Bits and Pieces

Well... 2 weeks left. I'm both really, really anxious to be on the road and done worrying about what it will be like... and also totally not ready to put the house on the market, and rather worried about what it will be like to be on the road, and not really ready to leave all of my friends. Even though it's not forever.

So now we're down to all the tiny last minute details. We spent the past week sorting, organizing, packing, planning. We're replanning our route, for the 4^th time or so. The timing changes every so often. We purchased the plateware, and a few other details for camping this weekend, and are ready to convert one bunk into a crib... another has already been converted into a cat safe- place. It's time to gather together all the library books and videos and return them...and then not check out any more. I THINK I've returned all the things borrowed from people... PLEASE let me know if I have something of yours!

We still need to visit with... well, just about everyone we know. The goal that didn't happen for this weekend was to move the girls down into the nursery with Anna. We want to put all our living stuff on the main floor, and then clean up the basement and upstairs and close them off. There are all these minor details to attend to... all very boring, I promise. It kinda feels like that night when you have nothing planned for dinner, and you are pulling all the leftovers out of the fridge and wondering how it would taste as a soup. Toss it all together quick and hope you don't overdo it.

This week, we're just trying to get through, with several last minute doctor appointments and odd things on the calendar. Then next week is our week of “lasts” before we leave. Hopefully no big blizzard comes at the last minute to snow us in. We'll finalize our itinerary next week for sure, and then it's off for mysterious adventure!
